Hello From Greg

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to introduce you to a new part of our website. Here you will be able to post comments, ask questions, start discussions, tell us about yourself, etc.
I will try to post regularly. It's a busy weekend...my daughter Simone graduates from high school tonight. But in the next few days I will give you an update on what's happening with the band, and try to explain why we don't have any dates right now, etc.
I think this is going to be a great addition to our site. Thanks to Ginger for her hard work in making this happen.
Have a great weekend, and I'll talk to you soon.
                        G

    Hey Everyone,
Hope you had a nice weekend. Mine was busy. It's that time of year, and I attended 3 graduation parties. Congratulations to my brother Eric's stepson, Jamie, who just graduated.
Lots to watch on TV last night. Cleveland was bad. They have got to start playing better. Also, I thought the Soprano's ending was the worst. WARNING:::: If you haven't heard about it, or haven't seen it yet, don't read further because I don't want to spoil it for you.
I never thought he would get whacked, but it just ended so weird. What was the significance of all that time watching Meadow trying to park her car? And I seriously thought my TV broke right at the end. I was so mad. Then I realized that was the end...lol. I don't know....I would like to hear some of your thoughts on the ending.
Caught a little of the Tony Awards, and taped it too. I love theater, musical theater, etc. It's live, first of all. And the talent is incredible. There were a couple of plays I have not heard of before. Hope they come to Vegas.
I'm hurting a little right now with my arthritis, but trying to get better. I'll keep you informed on that.
    Take care,
    Greg

    Hello Everyone,
I am asking all of you to please keep my brother Todd in your prayers today. He was getting ready for work around midnight last night, and was on the back porch smoking a cigarette, drinking coffee, etc. and must have passed out when he stood up. Either that, or he was dehydrated and very weak after having flu like symptoms the last few days. End result is that he fell, and hit the back of his head, full force on the concrete patio. Luckily, his wife was up, and heard the thud. She called 911 and they rushed him to one hospital, where they determined he has a skull fracture, and bleeding on the frontal lobe area. He also needed eight stitches in his head from the fall. They transported him to another hospital, and he is in intensive care. The bleeding continues, but there is no swelling of the brain at this time, which is a good sign. So, he will be there for at least two days. He is very drugged up right now, and resting. Need some prayers so that it does not get any worse, and for a full and speedy recovery.
Thank you so much, from the entire family.
PS. If you have not met Todd, he is brother number 4, and is 15 months younger than Rami.

Good new everyone.......Todd is in the clear! The last CT scan showed that the bleeding has stopped. He does have a bruise on the brain, but that will heal on it's own. The doctor said it was a miracle, and I believe it.
Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers.

    Hi Everyone,
Just an update on Todd. He remains in the hospital. They said that he has a bacteria in his blood, which indicates an infection somehere, and with a brain injury, that can be dangerous. So, they won't release him until they find the source. Other than that, he seems to be doing good.

    Hi Everyone,
I hope all you Dads had a great Fathers Day. We had to work most of the day, but I still managed to have some time to celebrate.
My brother Todd is still in the hospital. Now they are saying he needs a pacemaker put in. And it will be a few days before they get around to that. I saw him today, and he is already tired of being in there. I'll keep you posted.
Mike Smart was in a very bad accident on Friday night. A kid ran a stop sign going 70 or 80 miles per hour and hit Mike's truck on the passenger side, which flipped it over and sent it spinning in the intersection. The entire top of the truck collapsed, and the truck is demolished. Besides some minor cuts and bruises, Mike is OK. Very lucky. He played our gig and actually played with another band at Hooters at night. Pretty sore though. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Don't forget, we are back at Primm this weekend....three nights....Buffalo Bills. Thanks to all the locals that came out to see us last weekend.

    Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to give you an update on Todd. He did get the pacemaker put in, and was released last week. His heart is actually in good shape, but his blood pressure is low, which caused his heart rate to drop, and that's why he passed out. But he's doing fine now.

    Hello Everyone,
Well, I've got some sad news to tell you about today. A very good friend of ours passed away last Sunday...Otis Woodcock from Lansing, Michigan. He and his wife, Beverly, have been following the band since the early 80's, and we became close friends over the years. They were coming out at least 3 times a year, and would spend every night watching our shows. Otis loved to play golf, and he and Rami hit the links on several occasions. He also loved to bowl, and enjoyed coming out to Vegas, and doing a little gambling. They happened to be here when we celebrated our 30th anniversary, and their picture is on our gallery. I'll see if we can post it here somehow. But they also became good friends with a lot of the regular friends/fans that come and watch us.
And right before we started this blog, we lost another good friend, from Ohio. He was known as Chic from Cleveland. He and his wife Pat came out many times, and always made it a point to come and visit with us. They got married in Vegas, and came in after the ceremony so we could sing a song for them.
Both Otis and Chic were really great guys, and they will be missed.

    OK Everyone,
We just added a new date for the band. July 17-21 at Arizona Charlies West (Decatur).
This is our first time perfoming at this venue, so we need everyone to try to come out and support us. Not sure of the times yet, but I'll let you know.
We also have Oct. 2-7 at Arizona Charlies East (Boulder Highway)
And, on Sept. 7, we will be doing our outdoor concert at Sun City Anthem from 8-10. This is really only for the people who live there, but they don't mind if some of our friends show up. Bring a blanket, a picnic if you like, etc. We've done this for several years now, and it's always fun. I think we had 1,000 people last year. Bring the kids too...it's the one place they can listen to the band.

    Hi Charlene,
Yes, we are performing at the pool party tonight, but it's a private party-- for slot club members who have enought points to get in- that is why it's not listed on the website.
Also, we are not performing with the full band. I am actually the entertainment director at Terribles, and I had an opening for tonight. But the budget is very small for these events, so we are doing it as a trio..minus the keyboards, basically just to keep our musical "chops" up.
We're all trying to stay working. Rick and Mike have some projects together, and Rami and I might do some duo work. So, you'll see different combinations of the band in the future. But, the full band will be at Whiskey Petes this weekend and Arizona Charlies East next week.

Went to dinner with my family, and also went to Love..the Beatle show at the Mirage. Great show..especially if you like the Beatles. I highly recommend it.
Halloween was fun. It's definitely one of my favorite nights of the year. I didn't dress up, but gave out lots of candy....over 100 bars.
Just got back from Missouri again. Simone's volleyball team was playing their last home games on Fri. and Sat. They were up against the two best teams in their conference, and they got beat. But, it's a rebuilding year, with a new coach, and new plays, etc. So, they accompished a lot, and it will be fun to see how they do in the next few years. And we went to the Packers/Chiefs game while we were there. What a game....it went down to the last few minutes, but Green Bay won. Although we were decked out in Chiefs attire, and rooting for the home team, I'm glad for Brett Favre. I really love watching him play. I don't think there is anyone in football who enjoys the game more than he does. Plus, he's a legend, and Kansas City was the only team he has never beaten. So, he deserved it...he played well. Congratulations all you cheese heads!
And good news....we have added some dates in December. We will be at Whiskey Petes December 14,15,and 16....night shift. Hope to see you there!
    Keep blogging,
    Greg

    Hi Everyone,
Hope that you had a fantastic summer. I can't believe that it's almost over. It was good family time, and we did get to escape to Laguna beach for a few days. (My favorite place) My oldest daughter, Simone, is back to school at UMKC (University of Missouri Kansas City), where she is a sophomore. She had to have a knee operation over that summer, and it went well, but the recovery is long, so she will miss a few of the first volleyball games this year. But, should be good to go by the end of next month. I drove her car to Missouri for her. It took me 3 days by myself, but I really enjoyed it. My other daughter, Sami, is a senior this year at Bishop Gorman High School. Time goes fast. My wife, Susie, is busy as always with her dermatology practice. We have an anniversary coming up next month...21 years. Simone also got engaged a few months ago, but she and Matt promise to wait until after they both graduate from college. We'll see if they make it...lol.
As far as the band goes.....you can tell from the blogs, and our schedule that we are hitting the road this year. It's been a long time since we've travelled, but Buffalo Thunder is a brand new casino (it's not officially opened yet), and will be the biggest casino in New Mexico, and is really beautiful. I flew down there in June to check it out. The management is great, and they like our band, so we decided to go for it. We do have a lot of fans in New Mexico and Texas, so we are hoping to see some familiar faces.
We have had some really good crowds lately in Las Vegas, and I want to thank everyone for their support. We've been putting in some new songs, and working hard to keep you coming back to see us.
So, I think I have you up to date a little. I will try to do better in writing more blogs, and you do the same. I like hearing how you all are doing.
    Thanks! See ya........

    Hi Everyone,
I've been meaning to get on here and let you all know about our trip to Santa Fe, but I got really busy, and this is the first chance I've had. So.......
It was fantastic. All four of us said that we enjoyed the area so much, we would love to go back there and just vacation. The casino is gorgeous..with the Southwestern, Indian motif that you would expect from that area. And the Hilton Hotel is first rate. We didn't get to stay there, but we visited the pool area, and it is outstanding.
The lounge is really pretty. It's more or less a circular area, with very high ceilings, so right now, the sound is a little problem. Depending on where you sit, it can be very loud, or echoing. The crowds were a little light during the week, but by the weekend, there was a waiting line to get in. There are many different rules there that we had to get used to. No smoking in the lounge. No drinking in the casino (gaming area). You can't get a drink after 1:00 am, and you can't really get anything to eat at that time either. The lounge is more like a club we would have here in Vegas, rather than a lounge. Loud and lively is how they like it.
We had some friends from Texas that have been following our band for quite a few years that brought a big group, drove 6 hours and spent the weekend there. That was very nice, and very appreciated. And we also had some friends from Albuquerque that drove up one night. Thank you!
Nice to see familiar faces when you are far from home.
There is so much to see and do in Santa Fe. The museums, the shopping, all the historical sites. Rami and I went exploring one day to a sacred church they call the "lourdes of america" where miracles have known to have happened. And we hiked in the national forest to find a waterfall deep in the woods. Nice day.
All the workers, management, patrons were so nice to us. We are really looking forward to going back there in December. I took a few pictures that I'll try to post, but I'll take more in Dec. Hope some of you can come and visit us next trip.

    Hi Everyone,
First of all, I wanted to thank all of you for the birthday wishes, emails, cards and presents. Wow!
That was a happy weekend. Then, I received some tragic news on Monday. My wife's uncle, Jim Cap (her mom's brother) was killed in an ATV accident. He was a great guy. 60 years old, and just recently retired from working many years at the Barbary Coast, to start enjoying life. It's been very hard on the family, especially just barely getting over the recent death of their mother. I'm still in shock myself. The funeral is Saturday, so I am asking you to keep everyone in their thoughts and prayers, to help us get through this.
Also, include our web master, Ginger, who is going in for surgery on Tuesday. We wish her the best....she works really hard for the band and we want her...need her...to be healthy. So, good luck Ginger!
If any of you have any special needs, please post them here. This is a powerful group of people we have here, and they have proven that to me before
with their prayers and support. You don't even have to say what it is. I know with the housing market, the stock market, job market, gas prices, etc. everyone is hurting in some way right now.
    Thank you so much.

    Hi Everyone,
Just an update on our schedule....some last minute bookings, and a new venue.
We will be performing at Arizona Charlies Decatur on Fri. and Sat. May 15/16 from 9:00-2:30. Then on Sunday May 17, we will be at the Palazzo Hotel and Casino from 5:45-11:30. And then we are back at the Palazzo on Sunday, May 24, same time. We will only be doing 50's and 60's music there, because the lounge is right outside the Jersey Boys showroom.
The new venue is the Rampart Hotel and Casino. For those of you who live out of town, it is in Summerlin, but the Sun Coast, where we used to perform a few years ago. We won't be there until August 7/8, but we are looking forward to another new place to play.
Thanks for all your support, and I'll keep you posted of any new happenings.
Also, I signed up for Twitter, but I'm not real sure about it yet. Let me know if any of you are tweeting, and if enough are, maybe I'll give it another try. Too much technology...not enough time...lol Have a great weekend.

    Hey there Greg!
I used to be able to get to your calendar of events and your schedule, but it seems the site is gone. I can only find an older website that didn't include Mike. I see YOUR last entry in this Blog is dated 8/21/09. What's happening to the best band we've heard in Las Vegas? You have my e-mail address, so you could contact me directly if you want to do so.

    Hello,
I'm sure you are wondering what has happened to our website. Well, the bad news is that the web server company that we have been using has closed its doors forever. The good news is, it's only a temporary problem. Ginger is working on it, and as soon as we decide on another company, we'll be up and running as usual. Work is scarce right now, and we're hoping that things get better in the new year. Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and thank you for all of your continued support.

    Hi Greg,
I graduated from Carrollton High School in 1968, just a year ahead of you, I believe. Your family used to live next to my Grandparents, John & Erma Stevens. I visited Las Vegas last year for the first time since the 80's and had tried in vain to find your band. In reading your entries from that time of year, you may have been traveling. Anyway, my sister Karen (who lives in Alaska) and I are hoping to visit Las Vegas with our hubbies sometime in the near future. Hope to catch your act then. You mentioned visiting Laguna Beach which is a favorite of ours, too. We've been vacationing there every year for the past ten years. In fact, we were there this past October and are going back in January for 12 days. By the way, we live in Northwest Arkansas (home of Wal-mart) but still travel to Ohio to see my mom, other relatives, friends and will be going back in a few weeks to spend Christmas. Take care and have a wonderful holiday. And let's hope the economy gets better in 2010.

    Hi Everyone,
Thank you Meg, Patti, and Ginger. On behalf of myself and the band, I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Let's hope 2010 is better for everyone. Someone sent me an email that I thought was great and I'd like to share the thoughts with you. May peace break into your home and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills. May love stick to your face like vaseline and may laughter assault your lips. May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had, forget your home address. In simple words....May 2010 be the best year of your life. Thank you for all of your love, friendship and continued support.
